Pretty Bird

Tweetie (2) was always just a little too expensive for a Twitter iPhone App but I always heard great things about it. So imagine my joy (No not that joyfull… c’mon it’s just an app) when I found out that it would become the official Twitter iPhone App and free at that!

Tweetie also had that beautiful icon that make you wanna have it on your iPhone screen. I can’t stress enough what a turn off it is seeing an app with a ugly icon.

When Tweetie became Twitter for the iPhone the icon was changed to something more Twittery… not ugly but it’s no Tweetie icon.

The other day I found this little hybrid over at Dribble.com. Designed by Gerardo Diaz to make it look like the original Tweetie icon but with the branding of Twitter… just stunning!

Just woke up and found this through Smashing Magazine’s Twitter feed. It’s a game… called “What The Hex?” and is played by figuring out which color belongs to the hex value.

Had myself a change of heart today… trashed the previous design I was working on for my portfolio and started on a new one. I have big plans for it so I’m going to put a lot of time on it. It will probably be done during this fall.

Hot topic right now: Flash vs HTML 5.  Recently I got the assignment in school to make an Asteroids game in flash and ActionScript 3(not finished). Today I found the HTML 5 equivalent to the game over dougmcinnes.com and it’s pretty much the exact same thing we are trying to do in Flash.

More on the battle between HTML 5 and Flash at Design Woop.

It’s funny how the creative juices starts to flow when I have the least work. I’ve been trying to focus on my most recent project and it’s going pretty good. I’m designing a logo for an educational organization since Monday. Started out with a lot of sketching  and also some research. I abandoned my first idea pretty quickly and moved on to a design I see more fit and I look forward to present it to the client. I still have a lot of work left on it so laterz!

I wanted to make more out of my trip to Uppsala than it turned out to be. Time was a factor though. None of the pictures I took was suitable for some the tilt-shift I mentioned. However… the picture below might be part of the new MC KiKo website I’m working on.

Thursday May 6th 2010

The other day I wrote about inspiring comment forms. Today I found a post about inspiring contact forms over at webdesignerdepot.com. I like the fact that a lot of web designers incorporate the contact form into the whole concept of the web site. This one from Gpacheco is my favorite.

Tilt-Shift Inspiration

Tuesday May 4th 2010

Im off to Uppsala on Friday. KiKo is performing there in the evening but because of my love for that town we’re gonna go there earlier to wonder around. I will of course bring my camera and I think I will try some tilt-shift photography… well actually… I will try to photoshop the tilt-shift effect. Still, it requires a certain photo to make it look good. Webdesignledger has a nice post on some inspiring tilt-shift photos. Here are some of my favorites!

iPhone.AppStorm.net publishes a post about new iPhone games every Friday… no exception! not even on “Valborg” So browsing through the games I found one free: “MiniSquadron”. Beautiful website, beautiful game… and fun! The game play is awsome and simple and I can already tell that I’ll be playin’ this for some time.

Get it at the App Store! For free!
